Life is a dynamic journey, one that is filled with twists and turns that often catch us off guard. Despite its ever-changing nature, we tend to resist accepting and embracing the changes that inevitably come our way. This can be because, from a young age, we are taught to strive to be in control, we are encouraged to to make plans and set goals to shape our destinies. Don't get me wrong this is not a bad thing but the training our minds have undergone impairs the "life is not always perfect " button if I may call it that.
Take, for instance, a recent experience I had during class. I was to present an assignment we were given, I had done the proper preparation, and I had my points written on my friend's laptop. But when I went to present the assignment the laptop suddenly went dark. At that moment everything became a blur I went quiet for some time My brain seemed to shut down unable to comprehend the unexpected turn of events. In that moment of chaos, I found myself grappling with the flood of emotions - fear, frustration, and a deep sense of vulnerability. It's like I was moved to an unfamiliar territory.
As I struggled to regain composure, I realized that resisting the unexpected only fueled my sense of helplessness. Life, I realized is like a river, it has its own rhythm and currents trying to control its course is futile instead we have to learn to navigate its turns and twists with resilience and mostly grace. With grace we can embrace this uncertainty without feeling like we are giving in to chaos instead we feel like we are gaining strength from the chaos.
Embracing these uncertainties is acknowledging that while we may not always be in control over external circumstances, we have control over how we respond. It's in these uncertainties we discover our strength and ability to adapt and grow amid the setbacks.
Life's unpredictability isn't something to fear - it's an invitation to experience the depth and wonder of our ever-evolving story.
" Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like" - Lao Tzu -
